Sparkling Cat To Be Auctioned Off At CLAN Christmas Cracker

A leading Aberdeen jeweller has welcomed a special feline guest to their diamond window display.

Finnies the Jeweller is showcasing a sparkling cat statue from the Cat Parade held earlier this year.

The cat, which was sponsored by the family-run company, is named Shenghuo (For Life) and was created by local artist and student Kirsty Angus.

It will be auctioned off at CLAN Cancer Support’s upcoming Christmas Cracker after kindly being donated to the charity by its generous buyer at the Cat Parade auction in September.

Finnies the Jeweller have also donated a gentleman’s limited edition Citizen Red Arrows watch (RRP £499), which will be auctioned off at the popular event. Finnies have supported more than 55 charities in the past year, from event sponsorship and attendance to raffle donations – making a difference to many.

Matthew Finnie, of Finnies the Jeweller, said: “As a local family business we are committed to giving back to the local community and are delighted to be in a position to do so. We were pleased to sponsor a cat during the Cat Parade, which proved to be a fantastic event in aid of great causes.

“Kirsty did a fantastic job in creating Shenghuo and we were delighted to see it auctioned off for a great amount at the Cat Parade auction. The story became even more special when his buyer decided to donate Shenghuo back to CLAN and we are pleased to be showcasing such a wonderful piece of art in our window display.

“We hope people take the time to have a look at it and can’t wait to watch the bidding unfold at CLAN’s Christmas Cracker event later this month.”

Susan Crighton, CLAN’s fundraising manager, said: “We were absolutely delighted when we received the generous donation of this very special cat. Shenghuo looks incredible and is bound to be hugely popular among attendees at our Christmas Cracker.

“Everyone at CLAN would like to thank Finnies for looking after Shenghuo until it is time for our festive event. Generous gestures like this make a huge difference to us as a charity and we are hugely looking forward to the auction.”
