Go Purple at CLAN’s coffee morning in Inverurie

CLAN Cancer Support is holding a colourful coffee morning in Inverurie as part of it’s Go Purple for CLAN month to help raise awareness of its work in the region.

CLAN is holdings its annual ‘Go Purple for CLAN’ event in September, and is encouraging people to take part by adopting thecolour of purple during the month. The event was a great success last year, with many organisations transforming their workplace into a kaleidoscope of colour.

The purple themed coffee morning is taking place on Thursday September 4. Gemma Powell, CLAN’s area services co-ordinator, is hoping people will be able to join the charity on the day. She said: “Our monthly coffee mornings are a popular fixture in Inverurie and we are looking forward to adding a purple twist to September’s event. “This is a chance for everyone to go purple, and we do hope that people in Inverurie and the surrounding area are able to make it along for the morning and join us.”

For anyone wishing to organise their own Go Purple for CLAN event, the charity , the charity can provide anything from posters and stickers to balloons and t-shirts to help their efforts.

The coffee morning will take place at the Roman Catholic Church Hall in North Street in Inverurie at 10.30am and is open to anyone affected by any type of cancer.

Representatives from Johnston Carmichael will also be dropping in to the coffee morning to present at cheque for £1,659.66. Gemma said, “Johnston Carmichael has been raising funds for us throughout the year. We are hugely grateful for their support which really will help us to help those affected by cancer in this area.”

CLAN Cancer Support is an independent charity. It is open three days a week in Inverurie offering a drop-in service, complementary therapies and counselling as well as a regular relaxation classes and monthly coffee mornings.
