Come together with CLAN Cancer Support on Father’s Day

CLAN Cancer Support is to mark Father’s Day by holding a special walk that will allow individuals to come together to remember the life of a loved one.

Building on the success of its annual Mother’s Day walk, will host its Father’s Day equivalent at Westburn Park in Aberdeen on Sunday, June 15, from 10 am to noon.

The charity is inviting families, friends and individuals to join it in walking a route around the idyllic city park on a day that is close to many people’s hearts.

Participants can walk the route as many times as they would like and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Susan Crighton, CLAN’s fundraising manager, said: “We’ve seen our Mother’s Day walk incredibly well supported over the last few years so we’ve decided to extend the event to Father’s Day for the first time.

“The walk has been arranged to give those who have lost a father or a child to come together to mark the memory of a loved one on what is a special day for many. We wanted to try and turn the day into a positive experience for those who maybe look upon it with a sense of fear and sadness and we’d be delighted if you could join us.”

Registration for the walk is £5 and children under 16 can walk for free. Participants can choose to be sponsored to take part if the prefer. For more details and to register, please contact Steph Dowling on 01224 651026 or email steph.dowling@clanhouse.org
