Models will take to the catwalk in Shetland next month in a fundraising event for CLAN Cancer Support.
CLAN will host a fashion show in Lerwick Town Hall on Friday May 24 from 7pm to 9pm, showcasing a range of clothing donated by the charity’s shop on Commercial Road .
The clothing and accessories, modelled by a number of volunteers, many of whom have had their own cancer experience, , will be available to purchase on the night, giving attendees the chance to pick up an outfit without spending a fortune.
Phyllis Stickle, shop and fundraising co-ordinator at CLAN Cancer Support in Shetland said: “This is our first fashion show since opening the shop last year. We are looking forward to giving people the opportunity to pick up an outfit without breaking the bank as well as showcasing the high quality of donated goods we receive.
“The charity shop itself has grown from strength to strength since it opened in August last year, and is constantly stocked, thanks to the generosity of local people, with a whole host of clothing and accessories that ranges from dresses and suits to necklaces and rings.
“We are delighted that so many volunteers have stepped forward to help out with the fashion show – both on the catwalk and behind the scenes. We are still looking for a few more models and would be pleased to hear from anyone who would like to take part.”
Tickets for the evening cost £5 and can be purchased from CLAN’s charity shop on Commercial Road and its support centre on St Magnus Street. Those wishing to take part as a model or those interested in helping organise the event are encouraged to contact Phyllis on 01595 720320 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. All ages, males and females welcome.
