CLAN offers emotional support through our volunteers who have been trained in listening and support skills. Our support volunteers offer the opportunity to talk with someone who cares and understands your feelings. They are available at CLAN House during opening hours. If required, visits can be arranged at home or in hospital.
Counselling: In situations where more in-depth support is needed, appointments can be made with our fully qualified counsellors. They offer help to clarify and address issues that may be troubling you; work through your feelings, and explore new avenues with less anxiety and tension. Children & Family Support: Fully qualified and experienced support workers are available to work directly with children and young people affected by cancer and advise parents or carers. Based at the Centre, they can also meet children and families at home or elsewhere. Our counsellors and children and family support workers also offer support following bereavement. All support can also be given over the telephone by ringing 0800-783-7922 (calls are free) or by emailing

Support Groups
People in groups derive a great deal of mutual support from talking to each other and sharing experiences. CLAN understands and supports the many self-help groups who meet at CLAN House and in the community.
CLAN is also pleased to facilitate or help new groups as required. Details of groups can be found on the Cancer Services website: www.cancerservices.info or call us on 01224 647000.
