CLAN Haven

CLAN HavenThis unique bed and continental breakfast facility is offered to anyone affected by cancer who is attending or accompanying a friend/relative to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Staff and volunteers are on hand to provide practical and
emotional support and all the services of CLAN House are available to our Haven guests.  We also provide transport
to/from ARI for those receiving treatment or attending
appointments.

Our aim is to make our guests as comfortable as possible in an environment which is calm, relaxed, pleasant and supportive.

Ideally situated, CLAN Haven has its own entrance and is a 20 minute walk from the hospital.  The Support Centre has parking and there are frequent buses to Aberdeen City Centre, the hospital and both bus and rail stations.

The comfortable accommodation comprises en suite single and twin rooms, including a room for disabled use. Hospitality trays, TVs and hairdryers are available.

A continental breakfast is provided and the kitchen is fully equipped for guests to make light meals as required.  The Haven has a dining area, lounge and lift to the first floor.  There is also a washing machine and dryer provided for guests' use.

There is a licensed grocer nearby that offers general provisions and the Berryden Retail Shopping Park is a short walk away.

To defray costs we do ask for a minimum contribution of £20 per person per night for Bed and Continental Breakfast.

"For people from the Islands this place is a God send" - J B

"Thank you for everything. The place is perfect for someone in my position. I fear I may have to return in the future but at least I know of this wonderful place" - B A

"I stayed with my mother in CLAN Haven following a visit to the hospital for her chemotherapy treatment.  The stay was unexpected because she took ill in the CLAN Centre.  I want to thank all the staff who helped us at that time and to let you all know that we really appreciated what you did for us.  For me, one of the most valuable aspects was the superb facilities for being able to potter around making tea, filling hot water bottles, cooking whatever we wanted and feeling there were people around who cared.  For my mother, it was much easier to cope with than a hotel, partly because we were able to be in control of providing what we needed, and also a retreat from the world until she felt stronger.  I hope the rooms are discovered by many more people." - K J C

"Wonderful facilities to be able to tell patients about - I have been looked after so well, thank you." - Member of the Lymphoma Association
