The stay was unexpected because she took ill in the CLAN Centre. I want to thank all the staff who helped us at that time and to let you all know that we really appreciated what you did for us. For me, one of the most valuable aspects was the superb facilities for being able to potter around making tea, filling hot water bottles, cooking whatever we wanted and feeling there were people around who cared. For my mother, it was much easier to cope with than a hotel, partly because we were able to be in control of providing what we needed, and also a retreat from the world until she felt stronger.
